Star Image
The star image in this video is a group of guys who thought of a great idea to create a music video and dance on treadmills. Its shows them as fun people who know how to have a good time.
The fans of OK Go greatly admire the band thinking that they had a genius idea with creating their music video and they seem to continue to respect and admire them due to the fact that they don't take the normal route of Video Production. One of their sisters choreographs the dances and films it...and then they upload it to You Tube.
During a stars career they collect and build up the love and respect from their fans which gives them a high position and they can act on that by giving their fans something in return such as free giveaways signed merchandise, such as coffee mugs, T-shirts, hats etc . this is advertising the band even more and also giving the fans an opportunity to wear the colours of their favourite band.

Music Genres
1 What similarities do you observe in the videos you have looked at?
After looking at two videos under the Hip Hop genre Dr Dre ft. Knockturnal – Bad Intentions and Snoop Doggy Dog ft. Nate Dogg – Lay Low I have found a number of similarities between them. Mainly they are both performance based and use female attraction to sell the record.
2 How is your chosen genre different from another?
Hip hop is different to other genre because hip hop uses a lot of explicit lyrics, with the artist expressing themselves. The artist speaks openly as opposed to pop music where the artist is just trying to make the audience feel good.
3 Can you define in your own words the audience type for this genre?
The main audience type for this genre is usually teens between the ages of 13-18 although it is viewed by other ages groups.

General Textual Analysis of a Music Video
Title – With Every Heartbeat
Artist – Robyn
Produced - Andreas Kleerup
Genre – Electronica, Synthpop
The visuals are displaying the lyrics it shows the artist walking backwards but never once turning around to look as she sings the main line of the song “So I don't look back”.
The visuals show the artist walking past colourful shapes of all sizes moving to the beat of the music and as the beat gradually gets bigger and fast the setting gets and new colours are introduced brightening the song up. The song begins at a slow pace with the visual only showing the beat of the music using the large shapes and as it gets more positive show does the colour and pace of the movement.
The image of the artist is a simple person who has loved and lost and is clearly heartbroken, and it has been clearly portrayed in the music video. The record company could have used this to sell the track as people can relate to these problems.
The music video is mainly concept based due to the effects used in the video such as the giant shapes pumping to the sound of the music.

General Textual Analysis of a Music Video
Title - Here it Goes Again
Artist - OK Go
Directed by – Trish Sie
Genre – Power Pop
The relationship between the lyrics and the visuals are shown clearly as the song speaks about having control over everything then clearly displaying that we have in fact no control over anything. It displays this in the music video by using the treadmills to show control over each situation, keeping stability and jumping to each machine then loosing balance and falling off when singing about how we lose control heading into the chorus of the song, here it goes again.
The music and the visuals move at the same pace. The visuals are cut to fit the beat of the song and the performers move to the music. As the beat gradually gets faster and heads into the chorus so does the video by the artists beginning to run on the machines and showing a more fast pace hyperactive side.
There aren’t any close ups of the artist the camera is centralised and has a wide shot of the set. The video has a upbeat vibe and this is what is used to sell the song as the video is fast paced and looks like a fun atmosphere.
The use of the treadmills in the video hints to how people rush around and have to jump through all kinds of different obstacles when a problem arises which links to the lyrics of the song speaking about losing control of situations.
The music video is 100% performance based as the artists are shown jumping up and down running back and forth trying to keep up to the pace of the song.
